Lumentum DIB Scholarship
Lumentum awarded scholarships of $10,000.00 to 16 of our 2021 U.S. based interns from underrepresented groups. We will also award scholarships in 2022. To be considered for the scholarship, the first thing you need to do is apply for a Lumentum internship so you can be considered for a job with us. To receive the DIB scholarship, you must complete a summer internship with Lumentum.
Responsibilities
Work with engineers to develop laser drivers that meet functional, performance, and cost requirements.
Design driver hardware capable of sourcing the rated maximum current with over-voltage/current protection and allowing for remote firmware upgrade.
Develop firmware and software to implement required functions.
Layout and assemble prototype PCBAs and perform design validation.
Document and ECO release of engineering reports, engineering drawings, bill of materials and equipment design specifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related major. Students must be returning to school following the internship.
Desired Qualifications
Minimum Junior standing
Abilities in mix-signal circuit, FPGA, and MCU design
Experience with EDA software, FPGA/MCU development tools, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Agile Strong analytic and statistic skills
Ability to work independently
Excellent hands-on, communication and team work skills
