Compliance Operations Intern

The Bon Secours Mercy Health Internship Program is a paid 10-12 week immersiveprogramthat will expose students to the healthcare industry while also giving them the skills and experience needed to build a career. The program provides opportunities for mentorship, networking, career & professional development, community service, job shadowing, and exposure to senior and executive leaders. The intern will work under the direction of Bon Secours Mercy Health leadership by supporting the Compliance Operations team on special projects.

Location: Remote

Dates: Monday, May 23rd, 2022 -Friday, August 5th, 2022 UPDATE DATES

Hours: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Support various projects as needed by the Compliance Team
  • Description of intern project work and responsibilities
    • The intern will have primary responsibilities to collaborate with each of the Compliance Operations team member
    • Annual Training and Education Review/Revisions
  • Annual New Associate Orientation Review/Revisions
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Policies and update Policy and Procedure Tracking Matrix
  • Intranet Page Maintenance and Reporting
  • Secondary opportunities in other areas of Compliance as well.
    • May be assigned the task of scribing for large department meetings
    • May be assigned to view webinars or other compliance related training/news and review compliance newsletters to provide a summary for the team
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • An ideal candidate will pay attention to details. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous customer service experience in any field.
  • Previous healthcare experience and terminology is desired.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations/Advertising/Journalism, Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Healthcare Administration, Operations, J.D./Law
  • Preference for Juniors/Seniors
  • Preference for a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 Scale)
  • Strong service orientation
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and sense of accountability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Good communication (verbal, written, and listening)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing priorities, and effectively manage deadlines
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the leaders and colleagues
