The Platform Distribution Strategy & Sales/Planning & Analytics teams are responsible for applying ingenuity and critical thinking skills to advance the Media Networks, Direct-To-Consumer, Digital Transactional, and Theatrical businesses. The Business Strategy team works closely with the Platform Distribution Theatrical Sales & Analytics teams to identify and explore theatrical distribution opportunities for our movies while keeping a pulse on the key players in this space.
The intern will rotate between the two teams spending about half of the total internship time with each team. During their time, the intern will help to identify, create, and evaluate sales strategies and tactics to advance the content distribution business. Working hand-in-hand with key partners, this intern will help in evaluating any negotiation strategies.

Responsibilities :
You will…
- Support the team with any ongoing and/or ad hoc projects to evaluate distribution opportunities by analyzing key business drivers, industry trends, new business models and strategies
- Help create impactful presentations for the senior leadership that combine strong analysis, financial modelling and storytelling abilities
- Serve as a supportive member of the team while contributing to specific skills and fostering an inclusive team culture for learning and growth
- Monitor national theatre chain websites to identify any special programs or discounting offers
- Assist the sales team in helping to monitor weekly show-time listings to ensure that there are no schedule violations
- Monitor box office report auto-downloading to spot any problems or irregularities
- Help provide box office data to various partners (internal team(s), external firm(s), etc.)
- Perform online ticket surveys and/or theatre visits to assist in audit planning
- Assist in various quantitative analyses, such as Average Ticket Price’s (ATP’s) per location/Designated Marketing Area (DMA), ATP differences, etc.
- Monitor dashboards for potential audit candidates and other analyses as requested by Sales and/or Audit teams
Basic Qualifications :
What we’re looking for…
- Related work, internship and/or educational experience in a strategy, finance, analytical or business development role
- Interest/understanding of media industry landscape, including competitors and current trends
- Proven written, verbal, quantitative/modeling skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship experience in investment banking, management consulting, or strategy role at a media or technology company
Required Education :
- Currently enrolled as a junior or higher or must have graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Stats/Math, Legal Studies, or related
Additional Information :
- At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program, concurrent to this internship
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Work Environment
- This internship is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space.
- The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2022 through August 2022
- Candidate must be available to work full time hours on Pacific Standard Time for the duration of the internship, in order to align with a primarily Burbank, CA based team schedule
