Disney Streaming Consumer & Strategic Insights Internship– Summer 2022

A Day in the Life…
We will be looking to fill 2 Disney Streaming Consumer and Strategic Insights Internship positions – one on the Strategic Insight and Integration team and another on the Consumer Insights team. By applying to this position you will be considered for both opportunities.
The Strategic Insight and Integration team works in a consultative manner across all aspects of DMED’s business portfolio, including Streaming/In-home, Studio Distribution, Sports and General Entertainment (TV) to deliver complex research and synthesize a wide array of data/insights to support decision making on strategic opportunities/challenges. As an intern on the Strategic Insight and Integration Team you will be responsible for performing analytics and helping the team shape insights for communicating our strategic recommendations to senior executives. As one of the main analytic resources on a wide variety of high profile projects, you will be responsible for preparing data that drives decision-making at the highest levels of DMED.
As an intern on the Consumer Insights team, you would be supporting the team for the Disney+ Marketing & Content Curation and In-Home Marketing & Distribution groups. The primary areas of responsibility for this role focus on Content & Marketing Planning, Assessment & Strategy. You will learn to apply basic marketing research skills to support the Consumer Insights team for Disney+ Marketing & Content Curation. Through this work, you will develop a strong foundation in understanding the streaming landscape as well as how to communicate data at a major entertainment company. We are strong believers in socializing the voice of the consumer and bringing this voice into as many business decisions as possible. Like our valued subscribers, we are fans of movies and TV shows and enjoy sharing their passions, behaviors and preferences with our marketing and content teams. We are trusted advisors in helping ignite fandom and creating excitement and eagerness to watch new content coming to Disney+.
Both of these teams are part of the larger DMED Research, Insights and Analytics group of more than 100+ world-class researchers measuring all aspects of media consumption across a wide range of networks, digital properties and SVOD services to guide The Walt Disney Company.

Responsibilities :
A Day in the Life…
Some of the work you can be involved in may include:
- Supporting primary research/consumer insight projects to size/evaluate strategic business initiatives in collaboration with strategy teams and vertical specialists (Streaming/In-Home/Sports/TV/Ad Sales)
- Conduct analyses in response to requests from Strategy, Finance and Content Planning & Analysis teams to ensure consumer insights are effectively used and integrated into modelling and scenario planning
- Gather and synthesize business performance data and consumer insights to support the team in forming a thorough but succinct POV for initiatives that span DMED businesses and questions from Senior Management
- Assisting in on-going quantitative consumer research projects, from start to finish, including survey development, report development and analysis of survey data to provide feedback on new and current Disney+ originals (series and movies)
- Assisting in managing on-going global tracking research in support of the Disney+ marketing team

Strong proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience visualizing data in PowerPoint slides/presentations that clearly communicate data/research learnings
- Strong interest in learning how to create compelling stories through insights from data and consumer research
- Strong analytical skills
- Interest in understanding what types of content consumers like to watch and reasons why
- Maturity, enthusiasm and ability to demonstrate a strong collaborative and consultative approach
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 internships in a consulting, strategy, market research (focus on quant), consumer insights, or analytics role
- Experience working with survey applications and/or data processing tools (e.g. MaruHUB, Qualtrics, Marketsight, Q, SPSS, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel
- Previous internship experience in the Entertainment Industry
- Market/consumer research experience (designing questionnaires and analyzing results)
Required Education :
- Currently enrolled as a junior or higher or must have graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analysis, or related
Preferred Education :
- Classes with an emphasis on market research, consumer behavior or related area
Additional Information :
- At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program, concurrent to this internship
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization

This internship could be located in Burbank, CA, Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY, or Orlando, FL and interns must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to and from work
- This will be a hybrid working situation with some days in the office and some days working remotely each week
- The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space for working remotely.
- Although a hybrid work schedule is preferred, fully remote candidates will be considered.
- The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2022 through August 2022
- Candidate must be available to work full time (40) hours per week for the duration of the internship
