Summer Intern 2022 - Buying, Concessions - Remote

The Concessions team is responsible for growing the Claire’s Brand through retail partnerships. The Concessions Buying Intern will work closely with Claire’s internal buying, marketing, visual and planning teams while assisting the sales and field team in growing the concessions business. This intern will be responsible for assisting with projects and activities to support the concessions business unit, which is one of the key high growth initiative at Claire’s.

The Intern will receive an overview of the practical application of the:

• Planning and execution of Claire’s concession product strategy

The Intern will participate in and support in:

• Daily activities to support the concession product strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, vendor communication, purchase order management, sample organization and product delivery tracking.
• Work with cross functional departments to understand the business processes of operating a concession buying model.
• Store visits to understand how different channels of trade operate, how product is merchandised, and understand competition
• Analyze partner data to identify trends and patterns that can be used to increase sales
• Participation into trend presentations, product assortment reviews and development meetings
• Exposure to senior leadership

About You

• Completed at least 2 years of a 4-year college degree
• 3.0 GPA
• Be responsible, flexible, hardworking, ethical and committed to the internship program
• Junior level or above pursuing a Bachelor degree
• Prior retail experience preferred
• Proficient in retail math preferred
• Lead with a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit by giving constructive insights and opinions that will help shape buying strategies
• Strategic and tactical thinker that will turn any challenge into an opportunity
• Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects
• Strong detail-oriented mindset with accuracy at the forefront of approach
