Development Engineering Summer Intern
Sol Systems is seeking a Development Engineering Intern for our Development Engineering Team in Washington, DC. The intern will also provide support to the Development Project Management team with day-to-day project management tasks. We are looking for a creative problem solver who can take initiative and collaborate to support and augment the team's capabilities.
The intern can expect to gain knowledge of the solar photovoltaic industry in the US, site design, technical factors affecting solar energy production, as well as learn of the regional and design-based factors affecting cost of building solar energy plants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Complete site layouts for prospective projects using Helioscope and other online tools
- Perform energy models of proposed PV systems using Helioscope and PVsyst
- Assist Development Engineering team with building databases and tools to improve accuracy of energy models and site diligence.
- Collaborate with Development Project Management team to assist with day-to-day project management tasks.
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Current junior or senior undergraduate majoring in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or related field, preferred
- Familiarity with solar PV industry through classroom experience or other internship experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and research skills
- Strong writing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly organized individual
- Creative problem solver
Location & Hours: This is a remote internship with a required 30-40 hours per week.
Commitment & Compensation: This is a paid internship. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
