Digital Design Intern- Remote/Part-time

This is a part-time remote internship for the summer of 2022


Purpose:

The Digital Design Internship provides practical work experiences to college students assigned to the system Brand, Consumer Experience and Public Affairs (BCxPA) department that supports Advocate Aurora Health’s organizational strategies. To be eligible, a student must be pursuing a degree in web or graphic design, visual design, user interface and/or user experience and have an interest in gaining interdisciplinary experience in a health care setting. This internship allows students to gain experience working alongside members of our digital design team. In this role you will assist with providing guidance and support through variety of channels including web, marketing and social, and work with other designers to deliver exceptional experiences through a collaborative user-centered, iterative design process.


Accountabilities:

  • Design experiences for the consumer, and working with members across the Digital Strategy team to bring them to life
  • Incorporating UI/UX best practices in website design and layout, and adapting designs for responsive formats
  • Design concepts, user journeys and flows, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Assist with design deliverables across different channels including marketing and social
  • Assist with usability testing, A/B testing, and user research
  • Adhere to our brand guidelines and maintain our digital design system
  • Understanding health care environment and providing ad-hoc assistance, as needed, across the design department.
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, utilize Microsoft Teams for video and phone meetings regularly.
  • Track and update reports as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain presentations.


Position Requirements:

Education Required:

Enrolled in an accredited College or University as Incoming Junior or Incoming Senior


Field of Study (if applicable):
College/university junior or senior, or recent graduate, obtaining BA/BS/MBA in Graphic Design or equivalent area of focus, and with classroom experience in one or more of the following: Interaction Design, Digital Design, Communications Design or other design related curriculum

Experience Required:Classroom and other internship experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:


  • Working knowledge using Adobe Photoshop and intermediate/exploratory skills in Adobe XD
  • Basic understanding of current web technologies including HTML5, CSS3
  • Interested in the latest web technologies and design trends
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information
  • They must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • They should be customer service-oriented and learn techniques to best serve clients.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection, computer, webcam, and phone for video calls
  • Ability to take direction well, work independently and be motivated self-starters.
  • Current enrollment at a regional accredited college or university. Interns are expected to be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree
  • Grade point average of at least 2.5.
  • Experience using various computers/software systems including Word, Windows based mainframe
  • Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, MS Word, Outlook.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
