Product Design Intern

Location: Sephora Field Support Center (FSC) – San Francisco, CA

Pay Rate: $23/HR

Start Dates: May 23rd or June 6th (10-week program)

As a Product Design Intern you will:

  • Support the product design team in working with product managers to identify opportunities, conceptualize new projects, and aid in the definition of requirements
  • Produce low fidelity sketches and flows to validate ideas at the concept stage
  • Aid in collaboration with creative department to ensure digital experiences are on-brand and in-step with other creative initiatives
  • Build prototypes to test with users and convey desired interaction to stakeholders
  • Work closely alongside a UX researcher to test proposed designs at concept, medium, and high fidelity/prototype phases
  • Produce high fidelity pixel-perfect screen designs and provide detailed specifications and assets to developers
  • Meet with engineering teams to convey desired interaction and participate in visual quality assurance process to ensure final products match design intent
  • Maintain well organized Sketch files

  • Get exposure to cross-functional teams. Sephora has a highly collaborative culture so you are encouraged and expected to work closely with other related teams such as Product Management, Engineering/IT, Analytics, Creative, & Marketing.

  • Lead or assist on projects using a hands-on approach
  • Contribute to a delightful Sephora client experience across web (mweb and desktop), apps (iOS and Android), stores (cast & client facing in-store digital experiences), and other touchpoints (emerging technology).
  • Learn from the best by interacting with a dynamic team of professionals


To help ensure success, we are requiring the following characteristics, skills and experiences:


Education and experience:

  • Currently working on completion of Bachelor’s degree in a related field and is currently a junior or senior in credit hours
  • Proficiency in Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful nature paired with great problem-solving skills, both on your own and as part of the broader UX team.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation with the ability to prioritize well and drive a high level of focus.

  • Strong interest in the retail/beauty industry
