Marketing Intern - Remote/Part Time

This is a part-time remote internship for the summer of 2022

The Marketing Internship provides practical work experiences to college students assigned to the system Brand, Consumer Experience and Public Affairs (BCxPA) department that supports Advocate Aurora Health’s organizational strategies. To be eligible, a student must be pursuing a degree in marketing, public relations, journalism/mass communications and/or digital and multimedia communications and have an interest in gaining interdisciplinary experience in a health care setting. This internship allows students to gain experience with top growth and consumer first product categories to include Primary Care, Heart, Neurosciences, Cancer, Virtual Health and our LiveWell app. The position will closely work alongside Marketing Managers, Coordinators and Specialists on competitor research, marketing plan execution, analytics and other projects as assigned, while supporting our in-house agency model.

  • Partner closely with marketing team and outside vendors to direct, inform, and manage projects.
  • Monitor marketing campaigns to gauge smooth implementation and effectiveness.
  • Partner with Public Affairs, Social Media and Brand teams to execute on campaigns through writing content, reviewing graphics and assisting with campaign management.
  • Track and share results of marketing efforts by utilizing tracking systems to assess campaign effectiveness. Work with CRM, Consumer Insights, Digital, and other teams to obtain current market share reports and other campaign-specific actionable data.
  • Assist with market research and business development in the development of strategic marketing plans. Participate in team meetings to ascertain goals, present plans, and review project development. Identify additional consumer research results and opportunities.
  • Track the marketing activities of key competitors within system service area by analyzing consumer information to determine significant new marketing efforts. Compile reports, as needed, for Integrated Marketing team, apprising of significant market trends.
  • Understand the health care environment and provide ad-hoc assistance, as needed, across the marketing department.
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, utilize Microsoft Teams for video and phone meetings regularly.
  • Track and update reports as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain presentations.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Passion for marketing, brand strategy, writing and health care
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information
  • They must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • They should be customer service-oriented and learn techniques to best serve clients.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection, computer, webcam, and phone for video calls
  • Ability to take direction well, work independently and be motivated self-starters.
  • Current enrollment at a regional accredited college or university. Interns are expected to be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree
  • Grade point average of at least 2.5.
  • Experience using various computers/software systems including Word, Windows based mainframe
  • Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks.Strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, MS Word, Outlook.
