As part of our program, you will intern within the Generation Control Systems team. The ideal candidate is Self-motivated and have desire to stay abreast of latest systems technologies relating to optimizing generation system performance, and enjoys taking on new challenges, like the usage of Artificial Intelligence for the prediction of faults in the Renewable Energy generators. Being involved in all phases of the project: design, specification, configuration, troubleshooting, and support.


Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Participate in a dynamic internship program where you’ll work on Renewable Energy major projects within the Generation Control Systems team using Artificial Intelligence tools.
  • Work with multidisciplinary team to develop your programming, pattern recognition, and organization skills.
  • Work in an innovative and energized environment with a chance to make an impact.
  • Create a comprehensive presentation of your work completed during the program for presentation to the wider organization at the conclusion of the program.

What you need - Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment & learn quickly
  • Creative and innovative thinking
  • Experience with various programming languages: Phyton, .NET, Javascript, Visual Basic, C++, C#, SQL, structured text, etc
  • Desire to work in the Artificial Intelligence modelling field and the implementation in real systems.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor’s (Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent).
  • Renewable Energy and/or Artificial Intelligence classes
  • One or more summers remaining prior to the completion of undergraduate or master’s degree
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the requirement for future sponsorship

Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties. This is applicable to employees that will work in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York within AVANGRD Network and Corporate functions. This does not include those that will work for Avangrid Renewables.
