KEEN is offering college students a completely virtual opportunity to experience and be embedded into the brand by offering a 10-week paid summer (June - August) internship.

We’re eagerly looking for students who seek innovative solutions, have a strong passion for creating their own opportunities, enjoy playing outside, and spend time caring for the world around them.

Our KEENtern program provides students relevant and valuable hands-on work experience. This program includes:

Program Requirements

  • Be a Junior, Senior, or Grad student
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F PST working hours
  • Eligible to work in the US

General Summary

The Accounting Intern works with our Accounting, Finance and Credit Departments. As part of a close-knit team, this is your chance to gain experience with finance operations in the footwear and outdoor industry. You’ll assist the team with general accounting duties and support the monthly closing cycle.

Essential Responsibilities

Month End Closing

  • Prepare standardized monthly journal entries for monthly close process
  • Analyze and perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts
  • Assist with all other aspects of monthly closing
  • Assist with aging and potential bad debt receivables

Reporting

  • Assist with detailed reporting packages on all operating expenses
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with weekly and month end aging reporting
  • Assist with month end collections reporting

Other

  • Assist with entering payments for invoices and employee expense reports
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Assist with customer account reconciliations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Accounting or Finance major with minimum of two years of course work
  • Base knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP
  • Must be enrolled an accredited college or university at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F PST working hours
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and on tight deadlines
  • Able to sit and/or stand at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
