KEEN is offering college students a completely virtual opportunity to experience and be embedded into the brand by offering a 10-week paid summer (June - August) internship.

We’re eagerly looking for students who seek innovative solutions, have a strong passion for creating their own opportunities, enjoy playing outside, and spend time caring for the world around them.

Our KEENtern program provides students relevant and valuable hands-on work experience. This program includes:

Program Requirements

  • Be a Junior, Senior, or Grad student
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F PST working hours
  • Eligible to work in the US

General Summary

The Graphic Design Intern will work with our Utility in-house design team. This role will support our Utility category by doing the graphic design for a wide variety of marketing and company design projects including but not limited to presentations, Social, conceptual, video/photo shoots, tradeshow graphics, retail graphics, catalog design, packaging, event graphics, packaging, swag artwork, and collateral piece design.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Works with the design team on completing design round reviews
  • Creates Presentations for review
  • Sees all types of graphic projects through from concept design to production
  • Communicates and works with both in house and external vendors/printers on all aspects of graphic projects to produce final graphics that are delivered on time and that represent the KEEN Utility brand
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled an accredited college or university at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level. Ideally in a marketing degree
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F PST working hours
  • Experience 3D rendering, motion graphics or working with video a plus
  • Experience on studio and location photo shoots a plus. Previous Video/photo work a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe creative suite focusing on Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom
  • Experience with Figma a plus
  • Ability to work in a creative group, collaborate and take creative direction
  • Shows excellent creative judgment and design sensibility
  • Works well within a team and independently
  • Self-motivated, shows initiative, quick learner
  • Shows aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment
  • Shows good project judgment and proactive sensibility
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and on tight deadlines
  • Able to sit and/or stand at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
