Merchandising & Planning Intern - SXF

Job Description

Calling all rising junior and senior undergraduate students! We are currently seeking a superstar Merchandising & Planning Intern to join the Savage X Fenty team for Summer 2022.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the merchandise planning team in managing the financial success of a department and/or category by meeting sales, gross margin, and inventory management goals
  • Analyze historical data and current trends, identify and quantify risks and opportunities and recommend actions
  • Recap and review actual sales performance to budget, forecast, and last year in weekly and monthly business reviews
  • Develop effective promotional strategies to maintain healthy turns and optimize sales. Own execution of style-level promotional recommendations.
  • Partner with merchandise planners in the monthly Open to Buy/forecasting process to drive actions and results
  • Support the merchandise planning team by creating ad hoc reports and analysis and assisting with projects
  • Gain exposure in the development, execution, and communication of merchandise financial inventory plans that support the business objectives and strategy of a department and/or category
  • Develop skills to effectively recommend and influence business and financial decisions based on data
  • Gain familiarity with terminology of a fashion eCommerce business and retail math

Who You Are:

  • Preferred field of study: Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Customer service and results-oriented
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization skills
  • Demonstrate strong listening, communication, and presentation skill

The Intern Gig: We are looking for enthusiastic students with ambition to go far. Our full-time paid internship program will give you a chance to gain in-depth knowledge of what it is like to be a part of our fast-paced and innovative company. Our summer internship program will be located in our El Segundo headquarters, and will run for 10 weeks from June 13th-August 19th. Our interns have the unique opportunity to gain real work experience, while participating in skill-building workshops and interactive social activities throughout the duration of the internship assignment.
