Summer Intern - Strategic Planning
The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!
The intern will have an opportunity to work on continuous improvement projects, machine and labor capacity analysis, lot size assessment by building EOQ model, lead time analysis and end-of-life cycle processes. The individual will work with planning group, inventory management and master data team, digital support team, production team and project management group.
Program Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2022.
Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.
Must have a 3.0 GPA. Please attach a copy of your transcript in order to be considered for this internship opportunity.
Minimum availability of 12 weeks.
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia.
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience.
Job Responsibilities
Aggregate and simplify data from multiple sources and conduct analysis to allow for more decisive action from the individual teams.
Planning, executing, delivering business insights and analysis.
Identify, negotiate and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promising integrity.
Perform strategic planning for 3-18 rolling demand by value chain.
Create phase in/out plan based on end of life cycle by value chain.
Develop work-life balance tool for a team to optimize work time.
Support planning and strategic team with data and analytics projects.
Qualification
Junior or Senior in College or Graduate student with an interest in supply chain, engineering and business analytics related fields.
Highly analytical with background knowledge of supply planning and business technology.
Excellent skillset in advanced Excel.
Good understanding of Tableau, SQL or any other BI tool.
Excellent time management skills to manage high volume in a fast-pace environment.
Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2022, the majority of internships are currently planned to be virtual with the option for interns to work remotely from within U.S. Borders. Internships that operate in business critical roles, such as Operations and Research & Development may require you to work on campus. We will keep candidates informed if this changes.
