The Quality Assurance team in Fort Myers, FL (ALC) is responsible for supporting QC and QA at ALC. We are searching for an intern pursuing an Engineering or Science degree to support the Quality teams at ALC. The successful candidate will review Engineering Drawings and Quality Plans in order to create or revise inspection criteria with guidance from the engineering staff to execute various process improvement activities in support of on-going projects. The individual must be detail oriented in the execution and documentation of assigned tasks. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

This internship will run from May 2022 – August 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Fort Myers, FL facility.

Main Objective:
To gain an understanding of the quality role in a medical device company as well as hands-on experience working in a quality assurance/quality engineering function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review Engineering Drawings and Quality Plans

Support material inspection and process improvements

Review of inspection/Agile/SAP information for accuracy/correction

Support evaluation of nonconformances

Measurement Method Alignment on historical product

Investigate and implement inspection reduction activities

This is an in-office position located in Fort Myers, FL; it is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:
Junior or Senior progressing towards a college degree in Engineering or Biology or a recent graduate required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
