Reporting to the Brigham Hospital Innovation Manager, under direct supervision, the Mass General Brigham Digital (MGBD) Intern will assist in a variety of departmental responsibilities. Mainly focusing on the Brigham Digital Innovation Hub (iHub) initiative within Brigham and Women’s Hospital which is focused on creating and supporting a culture of innovation at the hospital. Responsible for developing a medium-to-long term digital marketing and communication strategy that will be used on MGB social media, newsletters, marketing, and other pubic-facing communications operations for the iHub. Intern will facilitate innovation project intake and coordinator. In addition, based on interest and aptitudes, intern will have the opportunity to engage in special projects such as COVID response, project management responsibilities, landscape research, and product testing.
Dates of Internship: June 6, 2022 - August 12, 2022
Duration: 10 weeks
Location: Mostly remote with select days onsite at one of our Eastern MA locations
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing and Communications
Develop a medium-to-long term digital marketing and communication strategy
Collaborate on social media, newsletter, marketing, and other public-facing communications operations for the Brigham Digital Innovation Hub (iHub).
Generate an executable social media plan for public-facing channels such as LinkedIn and Twitter.
Develop best practices for internal communication with innovators including physicians and non-physicians.
With guidance and assistance from the Strategy Manager and Director, the intern will review and conduct a presentation on digital marketing and communication plans for peer institutions and organizations.
The intern will help to monitor and facilitate operations for our public-facing channels.
Facilitate innovation project intake and coordination.
In support of a core iHub service to the Brigham family, the intern will assist in the daily operations of the internal consultations.
The individual may be charged to triage new requests that come into the iHub inbox,
Help scheduling and coordinating with the Brigham innovator.
Intern may also be asked to join various consultations and help document the key takeaways from the meeting and ensure clear next steps are shared with the innovator.
Special projects
Intern may be asked to work on short-term projects or initiatives from the Brigham or Mass General Brigham Digital that may arise, including COVID response. Overall, these may include project management responsibilities, landscape research, product testing, or other administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
High school diploma
College sophomore, junior or senior, ideally with a concentration in Digital Media and Marketing, Business Administration, any STEM major, or other related fields
1 year of experience working in digital or social media
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels
Self-directed and capable of independent work with strong application of critical thinking
Ability to be flexible, versatile, and adaptable in day-to-day activities conducted in a multi-site environment
Detail oriented
Willingness to work in the hospital
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with Canva, Photoshop, or similar design tools
Working knowledge of Twitter, LinkedIn, Buffer, or similar social media management tools
Experience working with Constant Contact, Mailchimp or similar newsletter tools
Knowledge of database management a plus
Good project management skills and technical/information security background
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
