What you will do:

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in Sales or Supply Chain Management and would like to gain hands-on experience working in the Automotive Industry on a commercial account. The selected candidate will be involved in special projects centered on improving Clarios processes related to the following: develop work instructions to set up new packaging in Clarios systems; develop and create tracking feature for internal purchase order and Power BI Point of Sales and Inventory reporting; create a database to support forecast improvement linking EDI and I.H.S data; and lastly, understand customer scorecard reporting to create internal tracking mechanism for up-coming deliverables. This candidate will interface with several cross functional teams, including commercial, manufacturing plants, IT, and supply chain. Goal would be to pilot processes developed without issue.

How you will do it:

• Instruction Development – gather data through interfacing and coordinating closely with cross functional teams to develop process to link parts to new packaging in Clarios systems. Ultimately create reference documents for account manager to follow assuring packaging is linked successfully within Clarios systems.
• Customer Scorecard Evaluation - analyze and understand nuances within customer scorecards and create internal process for cross functional team to proactively meet up-coming deliverables to avoid any potential scorecard deductions.
• Reporting Development – gather data with cross functional teams, analyze and create tracking mechanism as well as Power BI custom reports to support improved order tracking and forecasting ability.

Duration: Summer 2022 (June 1 – August 26). Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.

What we look for

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• High attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Time management skills
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks
• Able to work well within a team, as well as work independently on projects
• Currently a Junior or later status
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
• Located in the greater Detroit area and available to work up to 40 hours in the summer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and work independently
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
• Demonstrated problem solving skills required

Working Arrangements:

• This internship is remote for summer 2022.
• Interns must have a quiet workspace away from interruptions
• Be able to maintain regular contact with the supervisor/team via virtual methods such as video call, phone call, email and instant messenger
• Willingness to work independently and with a team
• Willingness to take direction from direct manager and senior members of staff
