The Mass Spectrometry Division is looking for a hardworking individual to join the R&D team as a full-time electrical engineering intern. During this internship, you will apply knowledge and skills from your coursework to address real-world problems with your circuit designs. You will engage with a multifaceted and multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers, chemists, and physicists applying their combined talents to build new analytical instrumentation products. This is an opportunity to develop your skills through collaboration with highly experienced experts in a company that is an authority in the markets it serves.


For this intern role, we seek a motivated candidate who enjoys solving engineering problems and communicates clearly with colleagues both verbally and in writing.

Core responsibilities for this position include:

  • Craft and develop circuit boards to connect with RS-485 controlled power supplies.
  • Process test data in Excel.
  • Document and present results to colleagues.

This position may include a combination of remote and onsite work.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of Junior (typically 3rd) year at an accredited 4-year university.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, Python programming, and board assembly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PIC processors.
  • Knowledge and ability to build circuitry for USB communication.
  • Familiarity with design automation tools.
  • Familiarity with programming in Excel.
