We call our corporate office the Global Support Center for a good reason everything we do here is to support our restaurants and in turn, make an impact on the lives of our restaurant team members and our guests. The team is dedicated to being of service to our 300+ national and international P.F. Chang’s restaurants and strives to be a cut above in all their interactions with team members, vendors, and suppliers.

The Global Support Center is offering an exciting 12-week summer internship program (May 23rd through August 12th, 2022) in a blended format of virtual and in-person.

Overview:

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Intern will have the opportunity to work with the Supply Chain Department. The intern will be able to learn and be involved in the supply chain process, including purchasing, distribution, logistics, inventory, and international. In addition, the intern will observe and assist with the cross-departmental interactions concerning product development, supplier evaluation, tests/promotions, and administrative duties to ensure we achieve supply chain and company goals.

Principal Goals and Duties of the Internship:

  • Learn about and assist the SCM team with product testing, item rollout and depletion, product implementation, promotions, logistics issue resolution, sourcing processes, supplier relationship management, and overall supplier/partner evaluation
  • Participate in weekly team meetings within SCM team and broader cross functional, project-based teams
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders outside of SCM for project-based work
  • Engage with supply base and key external partners as needed, which may include participating in a sourcing project
  • Identify and make recommendations in areas for process improvement
  • Assist team with various forecasting and analysis as needed
  • Support procurement processes by reviewing requisitions and purchase order placements for various commodities and items to support business requirements
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties such as interacting with restaurants, spreadsheet analysis, memo preparation, and invoice processing
  • Support team members with request for proposals and/or general sourcing activities

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Junior college level (or will begin Junior year in Fall ’22) working towards a Bachelor’s degree in SCM, Business, or related fields
  • Minimum 6 months of work experience (any type of work experience) required
  • Ability to work in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office
  • A minimum GPA of at least 3.0. Academic transcripts (official or unofficial) will be requested

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to hit deliverables working in a remote or virtual environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Expectations:

  • The selected candidate must be based in Arizona for the duration of the 12-week internship (relocation and corporate housing are not provided); strong preference granted to students attending a local Arizona university or college.
  • Work is performed in a hybrid virtual and in-office setting
  • Must be able to accurately and effectively communicate with other team member
