We call our corporate office the Global Support Center for a good reason everything we do here is to support our restaurants and in turn, make an impact on the lives of our restaurant team members and our guests. The team is dedicated to being of service to our 300+ national and international P.F. Chang’s restaurants and strives to be a cut above in all their interactions with team members, vendors, and suppliers.

The Global Support Center is offering an exciting 12-week summer internship program (May 23rd through August 12th, 2022) in a blended format of virtual and in-person.

Overview:

The Tax Intern will have the opportunity to work with all members of the Tax team and be involved in monthly, quarterly, and annual processes and special projects. This position provides the unique experience of working in a large multistate enterprise tax department with exposure to a variety of tax and accounting matters relating to Federal and state income tax, franchise tax, sales, use and property taxes. You will also get to learn about the restaurant industry and the unique challenges a restaurant faces in respect to tax and accounting. The ideal candidate for this position will have a desire to expand their knowledge of tax and accounting and enjoys working on complex and detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Goals and Duties of the Internship:

  • Learn about the tax function and engage with various key internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of Federal and state income tax returns and workpapers
  • Prepare and assist in the quarterly income tax provision process
  • Support team with monthly responsibilities: including journal entry preparation, tax payments, sales validation, use tax calculations, etc.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties such as memo preparation, notice resolution, and account analysis
  • Assist with tax audits and special tax projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Junior (or higher) college-level actively working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or related fields
  • Completed introductory accounting courses
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Word and Excel
  • A minimum GPA of at least 3.0. Academic transcripts (official or unofficial) will be requested

Expectations:

  • The selected candidate must be based in Arizona for the duration of the 12-week internship (relocation and corporate housing are not provided); strong preference granted to students attending a local Arizona university or college.
  • Work is performed in hybrid virtual and in-office setting
  • Must be able to accurately and effectively communicate with other team members
