As an intern you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. In this position, you will be supporting the Platforms & Services (P&S) Headquarters Business at our Falls Church, VA facility. This position will bemainly remote supporting the Falls Church facility. Relocation will not be offered and housing is not provided.

In this position, you will be supporting the Platforms & Services (P&S) Headquarters Business at our Falls Church, VA facility. This position will bemainly remote supporting the Falls Church facility. Relocation will not be offered and housing is not provided.
As a Communications Intern, you will:
- Work closely with communications team members to develop internal content for email, newsletters, social media, and the Employee App
- Support the implementation of the Employee App to employees in Platforms & Services
- Research and update functional intranet pages with new and existing content
- Assist in developing multimedia content including images and videos
- Strategize methods to communicate with offline employees across the sector
- Support Digital Content Manager in creation of social media content and analytics of communications metrics
- Support development of targeted lists of audience characteristics across social platforms
- Research trademark usage across company communications
- Share intern experience via regular LinkedIn posts
- Support communications team in other various internal and external communications efforts
- Assist with Community Investment initiatives on an as needed basis
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program pusuring a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Liberal Arts, English, or a related field
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of digital content creation
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Junior or Senior level in school
- Participating in Old Dominion University's Communication Program with interests including but not limited to Advertising / Marketing, Digital / Social Media, Strategic Comms, Organizational Comms, Public Relations, Film, Business & Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion. Students may be asked to provide writing samples or updated Comm ePortfolios
