Biotech Product Transfer Intern

The Product Transfer Department works closely with R&D and Manufacturing to ensure successful manufacture of new product and improvements to existing products.
Job Summary:
Collaborating with the Product Transfer Scientists, Engineers and R&D Scientists to evaluate the impact of changes
Performing Testing, assisting in data analysis and writing documentation as needed
Learn the fundamentals of FDA requirements for medical device testing, acquire hands-on experience with handling and testing biological samples and methods, and learn how to use statistical analysis software.
Working with other cross-functional groups to develop and refine Cepheid’s products.
This Intern Will Work:
Hybrid (part-time on-site and part-time remote)
If On-site or Hybrid , the Cepheid office is located in:
Sunnyvale, CA
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a college or university working towards a degree in Life Sciences, Bio-medical Engineering or related fields.
Hands-on microbiology or cell biology or chemistry lab experience
Analytical/troubleshooting skills and self-motivated
Willing to learn new concepts, technologies, products, and tools
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Junior or Senior level students majoring in the field of Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Bio-medical engineering
Biosafety Information:
Any associate who will be working with biohazardous materials or those who are required to work where others are using biohazardous materials, will be required to complete training for Cepheid’s Biosafety and Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan. They also need to be vaccinated against the hepatitis B virus, or show proof of having successfully completed the Hepatitis B Vaccination. This is a condition of accepting employment.
For associates who are not vaccinated, Cepheid will schedule the vaccination with our occupational health clinic. They must receive the first dose before being granted access to any BSL-2 lab.
Hiring managers and Cepheid’s Biosafety Officer will determine which internships fall under this requirement.
