Human Resources Project Intern (Remote)
Barnes’s Industrial Segment has an exciting career opportunity for an individual hungry for growth and eager to roll-up his/her sleeves and learn side by side a great team of HR leaders. This individual will play an integral role in driving and supporting our business goals and objectives as a Human Resources Projects Intern for a 12-month assignment beginning March 2022- April 2023. During this internship you will be fully engaged to support key Barnes Group Industrial Segment strategic project initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:
- Support Barnes Industrial Segment HR Director on various communication events (monthly global HR calls, quarterly reviews, weekly team meetings etc.)
- Working with the Barnes Industrial Segment HR Leadership team members, contribute to various organizational development & analytics projects and processes
- Drive issue resolution, audits, and tracking for items limiting full utilization of our HRIS platform globally
- Assist with developing presentations as necessary in support of numerous initiatives
- Assist in leading various HR initiatives by tracking timelines, auditing completion, active problem solving where issues arise, and driving communication and collaboration to ensure organizational understanding
- Co-lead early talent event preparations and execution in support of our global teams, including leading meetings, developing timelines and content to support local events, and surveying for feedback to improve future events
- Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on employee retention and organizational development related projects
- Gain a working knowledge of the structure of the organization and business functions to provide accurate and thorough support
- Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to streamline team operational processes to increase efficiency
- Support ad hoc projects and deliverables
Qualifications:
- Strong project management and attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to multi-task on a wide variety of assignments/ projects
- Excellent analytical skills and creative problem-solving capabilities
- A minimum of 1-year experience in HR or Project Management is preferred
- Detail oriented, self-starter, who can manage through ambiguity and demonstrate results
- Demonstrated success of working independently and collaboratively with a diverse and/or global group
- Excellent time management, planning, and communication (written and verbal) skills required
- Ability to work well with others and complete assignments on time
- Must possess high ethical standards and able to maintain confidentiality of all data and files
- Able to travel infrequently for in-person local meetings (Farmington/Bristol, CT)
- Strong Computer skills in MS Office such as Word, Excel, and Power Point; Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is a plus
Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or in a master’s degree program studying Human Resources, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, or other closely related field of study.
