Our Insights team is seeking a User Research Intern to join the Consumer Insights team for the Summer 2022 Program. This is a fantastic role for students to provide valuable player insights to influence the growth and development of a portfolio of over 10+ mobile games and Play-to-Earn Blockchain games!
Jam City is an award-winning game company responsible for creating leading games like; Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Disney Emoji Blitz, Jurassic World Alive, Cookie Jam, and most recently Champions: Ascension, a true AAA play-to-earn game developed exclusively for Web3.
Internship Program Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate university program in the U.S (Juniors or Seniors preferred) and able to intern remotely through late-August 2022. At this time, our program is not open to new grads.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2022 session. Visa sponsorship is not available for our internship positions.
- Be able to work on a part-time basis (up to 30 hours per week)
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Partner with senior UX researchers to conduct generative and evaluative research studies across early stages of the product lifecycle– including usability research, concept research, competitive analyses, and surveys.
- Partner closely with game teams to understand player needs and wants that will impact the game design.
- Collaborate with UX researchers to execute on research plans including discussion guide development, player recruitment, moderating, note taking, and analysis of research sessions.
- Analyze competitor Play-To-Earn Blockchain gaming titles to determine UX trends and their impact on players.
- Collaborate closely with other consumer insights researchers, Product Managers and marketing to enrich research findings with attitudinal and analytical data.
- Gather and communicate key research findings to the game teams with effective language and strategy to impact the product life cycle.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate college program in the U.S. (Juniors or Seniors preferred) during the Summer 2022 program and returning to classes during Fall 2022
- Be able to work on a part-time basis (up to 30 hours per week)
- Passion for playing and analyzing games (mobile and Play-to-Earn blockchain gamers are a plus)
- Interest in Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and blockchain technology.
- Some experience with survey tools (Qualtrics, Alida etc.) is preferred.
- Preferred qualitative or quantitative school-based or prior-work research experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical skills, especially in observing user behavior and identifying key UX opportunities for improvement.
- Self-starter with passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results and affect meaningful change.
About Jam City’s Internship Program:
Jam City’s Summer 2022 Remote Internship Program will take place from June 13th through August 25th and will be primarily remote with the possibility of one week being on-site (travel provided for non local students). Students can expect a paid, part-time (up to 30 hours per week) internship working alongside Jam City’s business and studio development teams. Within internships, students gain valuable insights into our products, players, and industry. Our program allows students to work on impactful projects, collaborate with industry professionals, and develop problem-solving skills through real hands-on experiences. We’re looking for students that bring curiosity, creativity, and an interest or passion for mobile games.
