Corporate Communications Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Communications Intern will provide administrative support to the Culture and Communications team and assist with digital communications projects. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of various Corporate Communications activities. Responsible for a variety of projects designed to be completed. Gain knowledge of and interact with communications, human resources and other business professionals throughout the internship. This internship will be fully remote.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Culture and Communications department developing a general understanding of all aspects of administration of the Corporate Communications function including policies, procedures and processes.
  • Gain exposure to various assessments and resources, including internal communications, external communications and media relations.
  • Primary focus will be to manage corporate social media accounts and post content (includes graphic design and copywriting).
    • Develop social media communications plan.
    • Brainstorm campaign ideas.
    • Monitor corporate social media platforms and analyze analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.
  • Support graphic design projects for digital assets and business PowerPoint presentations.
  • Support the redesign of the employee intranet website.
  • Provide assistance with special projects as needed.
  • Additional duties are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Current enrollment in graduate or undergraduate degree program in a Communications-related field at a recognized college or university. For undergraduate applicants, Juniors are preferred.
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week during school year (Position will move to 40 hours over the summer).
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, design software (such as InDesign, Photoshop) and Internet applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including copy editing, problem-solving and planning).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and be discrete while accompanying sensitive information.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
