Public Relations Intern
Are you full of creative ideas and eager to contribute? As a Public Relations intern, you will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of public relations in a marketing and advertising agency. You will be responsible for assisting the Account Director in developing public relations plans, including writing, conducting research, preparing materials, and responding to inquiries. The Public Relations Intern requires strong writing skills, excellent communications skills, and a good working knowledge of publicity and public relations skill sets.
Start Date: Mid to end of May
End Date: Early to Mid August
Pay: $18-$20/hour
Hours: 30 hours/week
Location: 1909 21 st Ave. So, Nashville, TN - Hybrid Remote Work Environment

What You’ll Do
- Fully support iostudio’s PR strategy and execute it in different phases.
- Research client business
- Create and curate engaging content
- Communicate and build relationships with current or prospective clients
- Effectively utilize iostudio’s social media
- Build and update media lists and databases
- Learn how to gather data for biggest reach
- Plan community events, create and distribute media kits to ensure maximum press coverage
- Distribute publicity stories weekly to the media, determined by the director of public relations.
- Create a weekly public relations production schedule for Account Director review and approval.
- Assist in creating video, slideshows or other visual presentations for meetings and business gatherings; helps plan events.
- Order any digital photography, art or other materials needed for distribution with publicity stories with the approval of the Account Director.
- Provide general administrative support to the Account Director.

What We’re Looking For
- Junior, senior, nontraditional student in college with coursework or experience in a related field (marketing, communications, journalism)
- Solid communication and strong organization skills
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to ask questions and ability to follow up
- Passion for learning and ability to follow directions
- Ability to manage up and knowing when to escalate client and/or internal concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize several projects simultaneously
- Highly collaborative team player
