Supply Chain Intern

Nearly 1,400 employees serve the company with business planning, communications, diversity, financial support, human resources, information technology, legal counsel, safety and supply services.
Supply Chain Interns will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work activities related to risk, cost, and spend analysis, request for proposal development, bid analysis, and other strategic sourcing related functions. Coaching and feedback are a key part of your intern experience and an assigned mentor that will guide you through your internship. You will have the opportunity to work and gain hands-on experience in Ameren's Supply Chain team!
This is a full-time position during the summer from May to Aug 2022.
Interns will be working primarily with a member of the Supply Chain group and will support sourcing processes, category management and supply chain activities. As an intern you will assist in preparing market and economic analyses to support overall operational objectives. Specifically, you may develop should-cost financial and economic models, supplier and market intelligence, or pre or post-request for proposal analysis in measuring and evaluating supplier proposals.
Measurable Objectives : Interns will be measured against completion of the assigned tasks, including the timing, quality, and character of work performed.
Expected Major Contributions : Interns will assist in improving Supply Chain market and supplier intelligence, develop financial and economic models, and evaluate the risk assessment and supplier prioritization process. In addition, intern will assist in Supply Chain Group meetings, expected project delivery, and service goals.
Expected Benefits to Intern : The intern's analytical and negotiation skills will be exercised in real business situations. Intern will experience the roles and responsibilities by participating in Ameren Supply Chain activities.
Qualifications
Student status (graduate or undergraduate) in a business or technical program from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4 point scale is required. Course work or concentration in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Math, or Data Analytics preferred. Completed course work through the junior level with a GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will have:
Basic understanding of analytical and statistical approaches to problem solving and financial accounting experience. Good understanding of Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills in additional to a high level of initiative. Previous experience in the supply chain area a plus.
Locations
Ameren Supply Chain is located in St. Louis, Missouri. There may be opportunity for remote and/or hybrid work.
If you are selected for an intern position, please note that Ameren does offer a housing stipend to interns and co-ops who are temporarily relocating, if minimum housing stipend requirements (living & attending school 50+ miles away from your working location) are met.
