- The USP Paid Summer 2022 Internship Program offers students of scientific and business operational disciplines the fulfilling opportunity to spend 12 weeks at USP working on a defined project that expands and enhances USP's core strategic initiatives. Selected applicants will work onsite in Rockville, MD, and remotely based on positions from May through August, 2022
Eligibility and Requirements
Undergraduate juniors and senior students majoring in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related field are eligible for scientific roles. Other majors will be considered for business operational internships, such as marketing, finance, management, public health, or accounting.

Promoting the Quality of Medicine (PQM+) (Hybrid/Remote and Onsite 3- Positions)
PQM+ interns will work to accomplish the following:

Support development of the RBI guidance document for regulatory use.

Compile and consolidate feedback from the pilot country (both GMP and GDP) module to enhance the Guidance and tool before their finalization and launch to NMRAs and interested stakeholders

Identify and validate reference resources that are, and not limited to, WHO, PIC/S, SRAs (incl. EMA, USFDA, MHRA, TGA, etc.), WB, and country specifics

Contribute to the revision and validation of the SATTA Tool. It is proposed to revise the SATTA into a more user-friendly tool that combines both ISO and WHO into one simplified list, provides an output that can be used more efficiently by the laboratories, and is associated with a detailed procedure for use.

Conduct research and literature review towards the development of a WHO Strategy Model

Research to advance the development of a RIMS advocacy tool working closely with MTaPS and key partners (interested NMRAs, WHO, ADB, WB, and CIP RSS participating MS)

Analyze PQM+ technical tools, approaches, and training material and create an inventory in a centralized repository. Categorize material based on criteria developed by the technical team. Summarize information collected.

Forensic analysis of workforce and instructional design activities. Organizing and analyzing existing data to help tell a WKFD story and identifying further data needs and analysis that may be useful (2-page proposal available).

Develop workflow processes for capturing essential program information, e.g., data related to local manufacturing

Support research and literature review for thought leadership material ( publications, manuscripts etc.)
