Are you a journalism, advertising, public relations, or marketing student with solid communications skills, along with experience in creating social media videos, writing blogs, and creating presentations? Are you passionate, creative, and results-driven? Our Engaging Locally Communications team is looking for you! We assist local staff and volunteer teams in finding creative ways to tell the AARP story to resonate with target audiences and increase awareness that we are in the community. As an intern, you will apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to a myriad of projects, helping find innovative ways to connect with specialized and hard-to-reach audiences. We’ll challenge you to think and work in new ways. We are committed to your growth and will cultivate your development. This internship has an expected start date of Fall 2022 and will go to the end of the year.
Responsibilities:
  • Apply innovative thinking and problem-solving to challenges
  • Compile research and data analyses and write-up of findings
  • Write and edit materials for internal and external communications platforms; Create and distribute attractive and eye-catching presentations and toolkits
Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
