Job Summary
The First American internship in Software Engineering will work in a program designed to help students gain experience and develop the technology, professional and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout their career. Interns are given exposure by working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry balanced with intern specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities while under the close supervision and guidance of their manager.
Essential Functions
- Apply software frameworks and design principles/patterns
- Analyze tasks and breakdown into smaller unit-of-work
- Coding and debugging software applications
- Practice Test-driven development using mocking framework
- Implement Integration and End-to-end test cases
- Documentation
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
- Computer Science major with a Junior or Senior standing
- Required skills – .NET Core framework, C#, Python, SQL and/or NoSQL (Stored Procedure/Function, CTE), deep understanding of object-oriented programming.
- An interest and willingness to learn about the Mortgage, Real Estate, Financial, Title Insurance or related industries.
- The ability to solve problems, be detailed oriented and be conscientious about all work completed.
- Self-driven team player with ability to work independently, and also collaborate with other teams.
- The potential to excel in the following competencies: Agile SDLC, Communication, Customer Focus, Ethics & Integrity, Teamwork & Adaptability, Productivity & Initiative.
