INTERNATIONAL MARKETING INTERN
**INTERNSHIP WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED**
We are seeking a proactive and engaged intern to help build the international marketing program for the Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA). The selected candidate will contract directly with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) for the purpose of assisting the State of Arizona implement international agricultural promotion activities. The purpose of this engagement will be to increase the number of participants in WUSATA programs, increase agricultural export sales, increase first-time export sales, and help suppliers establish new distributorships. To accomplish these objectives, the intern will be expected to help identify Arizona agricultural suppliers, conduct outreach and education on export programs and resources, and conduct research to help inform marketing and export strategies for Arizona’s small business agricultural suppliers. The term of this internship is from the date of hire until 12/31/2022, with the potential to extend the position through 12/31/2023 based on performance and funding availability. The position will be mostly remote, with occasional in-state, same-day travel required to accompany AZDA staff to in-person meetings with potential suppliers. Other duties as assigned
Update the State of Arizona and WUSATA databases of agricultural supplier companies;
Collect information and produce content for the AZDA and WUSATA newsletters and websites;
Promote and recruit companies to participate in ongoing and event-based State and WUSATA services; Hold one-on-one discussions with companies about exporting opportunities & available assistance; Conduct research on international markets for Arizona suppliers
Organize & recruit for State of Arizona and WUSATA export seminars and other events
Collect evaluations from companies that have participated in WUSATA activities
Attend monthly WUSATA intern meetings; Maintain AZDA metrics for food & agricultural export promotion

Selective preference will be given to students in a marketing or related program
Candidate must be in their Junior or Senior year of a BA/BS or working toward a Masters/PhD program
Candidate must have a GPA of 3.0 or better
Candidate must attach college transcript with resume to apply
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or have a visa that permits the individual to work
