ABOUT MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP FOR TOMORROW (MLT)
MLT is a non-profit organization that is changing the face of leadership in the private and social sectors. MLT provides students of color with a personalized professional playbook, one-on-one coaching, and door-opening relationships that accelerate their career paths from college to MBA to senior leadership. MLT has created a thriving network of more than 8,000 rising leaders and is fundamentally transforming the diverse talent pipelines at its partner organizations, including more than 100 leading corporations, nonprofits, and graduate business schools.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Building on the success of MLT’s signature undergraduate program, Career Prep, we are launching a university-based college-to-career solution - Turn Pro by MLT - to help thousands of students of color each year secure career-path jobs and translate their degrees into economic mobility for themselves and their families. Starting in the second half of 2021, MLT will partner with three universities to deliver a college-to-career program to 1,500 rising juniors and seniors of color. MLT will also partner with each university and an independent evaluator to conduct a rigorous evaluation to demonstrate that students who receive our support land better jobs with higher starting salaries.
MLT's Turn Pro Coaches are key members of the team with primary responsibility for guiding students successfully through their personal and career development curriculum, based on the Coach's own experience in a professional / commercial work setting. Coaches also contribute to the development of, and fine-tune curriculum and seminar content; engage with corporate partners to learn more about their job opportunities; and assist with program execution and evaluation.
Turn Pro Coaches learn about and assess the qualities required for participating students to secure internships and career opportunities in business, and Coaches are responsible to ensure that the program delivers a class of qualified candidates to present to corporate partner organizations. To this end, Coaches develop a keen understanding of the success profile expected in available industries and nurture and guide program participants to help them develop these traits.
To succeed in this role, candidates need a strong understanding of the college and internship experience; a foundation in business that demonstrates a knowledge of corporate talent requirements; high emotional intelligence and motivational skills; and the ability to initiate relationships and build rapport with program participants, corporate partners, and MLT staff.
The Turn Pro Coach positions are regular full-time opportunities and open to remote work arrangements with a preference for candidates located in the geographic regions of each respective university.
