Human Resources Student Intern (Remote)
The Human Resources Intern will provide general support in the management of day-to-day HR activities as well as participate in special projects or initiatives. Our internships provide an opportunity to learn more about working in a complex, multi-function human resources department, and provide opportunities to get an inner look at working in a corporate environment.
The HR team is looking for an organized and motivated HR intern to join the team for the summer of 2022. You will work in one or a few different functional human resources areas but may have a specific focus in the area(s) of Recruiting, Benefits, HRIS/reporting, Employee Relations, Diversity, Employee Engagement, and or Learning & Development.

You will work with the HR team to provide support in the various aspects of the employee life cycle from acquisition/recruiting, onboarding, engagement, system support, and benefits. This opportunity will provide you with hands-on exposure to many HR functions.
What You’ll Do:
Recruiting and On-boarding Support:
- Respond to inquiries from managers and other employees regarding the recruiting process; provide accurate guidance.
- Create new requisitions in accordance with Windstream policy.
- Communicate with candidates to ensure timely completion of drug screens and background checks.
- Use discretion to escalate concerns and/or obtain guidance.
- Launch electronic on-boarding of candidates. Follow up as needed to ensure completion.
Employee Relations Support:
- Utilize a case management tool to code and answer all incoming HR related questions. Prioritize work accordingly.
- Escalate/redirect cases to appropriate HR groups (Benefits, Payroll, Strategic Partners) to ensure resolution.
- Assist HRBP's in internal investigations and the corrective action process.
HR Support:
- Complete requested daily/weekly/monthly and ad-hoc reporting for HR leadership.
- Provide administrative support for electronic on-boarding tool.
- Accept other tasks as needed.

- Capability of taking direction and working independently on assigned tasks
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and reprioritize with little notice.
- Keen attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Professional and dependable.

- Currently enrolled in College as a Junior or Senior
- Able to work 40 hour work week during the Summer in Little Rock, AR
