Everbridge is looking for a creative, hard-working and energized individual to join our team as a
SRE Intern. The summer intern will be working with Everbridge's senior engineers to participate in automating various processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of Web applications and TCP/IP network. This isn’t just a learning internship, as you’ll be directly influencing the future of Everbridge by giving better visibility into the current systems, influencing our culture, coding, and monitoring best practices.
About the Team:
As the Everbridge Site Reliability Engineering team, we are responsible for ensuring overall service quality and availability of Everbridge's solutions. The technology platforms that we support automate the international delivery of critical information to help keep people safe and businesses running. We are a 24x7x365 distributed team that can do our job anytime, anywhere on the planet with an Internet connection. Our holistic understanding of OSI layers 0 through 8 allows us to effectively maintain a heterogeneous blend of worldwide public and private cloud services where lives and livelihoods are at stake in the event of failures. We are dedicated, passionate people who are committed to internal/external customer service and doing the right thing.
What You'll do:
- Embrace Site Reliability Engineering principles of proactivity, automation, cross-functional collaboration, data driven decision making, and fast+safe failing to continually improve our technology and culture.
- Decipher workflows in coding to apply best practices in logging
- Enhance current application monitoring, adding in missing pieces for transparency
- Partner with our developers and recommend improvements to existing development tooling
- Research tools and monitoring standards for implementation
What You'll Bring:
- Current undergraduate Junior or Senior student pursuing degree in a related field
- Experience with writing code in at least one programming language
- Understanding of Web Application and TCP/IP networking
- Familiar with Windows and Linux OS
- The propensity to work and learn in a fast-paced environment
- An energetic and can-do attitude
- Must be able to use discretion with confidential information
