Internship – FIU

About the Role:
MetaBank is looking for a Humble, Hungry and Smart intern who is eager to start their career within the Financial Industry. The intern will have the chance to learn all about MetaBank while performing a variety of tasks to support the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). The FIU analyzes customer and transactional activity to identify, prevent, and report suspicious activity. In this role, you will learn about various financial products & services, monitoring processes and various financial crime types.
What You Will Do:
- Complete detailed work to help maintain organization and efficiency within the FIU.
- Enter data into the case management system after retrieval and analysis.
- Prepare and send Excel spreadsheets to external partners for their processing, and track responses.
- Take proper action on notifications received from internal / external sources, update systems & accounts accordingly.
- Analyze information to assess customer profiles and transactional activity.
- Complete and keep accurate documentation.
- Communicate with multiple parties both internally and externally.
- Help to identify efficiencies within the administrative process.
- Regularly interact and network with the team and with leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need:
- High school certification or equivalent required.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree; entering Junior year or greater
- A GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Effective written and communication skills.
- Strong diligence, and analytical thinker.
- Knowledge of banking products, fraud, and/or criminal techniques a plus.
