Customer Success Intern

Avalara is looking for several interns to join our team.

Interns will be provided several projects during the internship. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a variety of disciplines, including Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, Jira, Zoom, and PowerBI, as well as other tools and will demonstrate their progress in a final presentation shared with the broader Avalara org.

Our intern program for 2022 will be virtual as the health and safety of our teams is our #1 priority! Don't worry, even though this experience may look different because we won't be in person, it won't stop us from having fun and making our customers happy.

Job Duties


  • Project Management: Develop project plans, objectives, deliverables and timelines that support business needs; Monitor progress/success of projects and program execution compared to plans and escalate when deliverables are at risk; Efficiently identify and resolve program issues; Design and maintain project documentation
  • Work with a global team to learn and understand sales and customer retention functions at Avalara
  • Present findings and results on various projects in live and recorded presentations.
  • Connect with customers to understand their intent/expectations of our offerings

  • Follow strategic direction from assigned manager and mentor to achieve project deliverables
  • Collaborate with assigned team to identify gaps and propose solutions
  • Partner with fellow interns to attend and participate in internship program events and activities

Qualifications


  • Communicator.
    The skills and presence to effectively communicate with personnel and all levels of leadership. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to articulate ideas and proposals clearly to stakeholders
  • Experienced. Demonstrated success managing complex projects from start to finish. Excellent decision making, analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent project management skills.
  • Confident. The courage and confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Organized and Independent. Strong organizational and follow through skills. Self-directed and resourceful

  • Educated. On track to complete BS degree in Business, Information Systems, Informatics, Communication, or similar competency
  • Passion for Customer Experience. Understands the difference between (and value of providing) good customer experience and amazing customer experience.

Required Skills


  • Students currently enrolled in a degree program in entering their Junior or Senior year
  • Ability to work for 12 consecutive weeks
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and should not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Prior sales, customer service, and/or related experience

  • Ability and desire to provide breakthrough customer service experiences
  • Creative or innovative in approach to solving problems
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to apply feedback from team to accomplish tasks

Compensation

Avalara is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in is $20 per hour. This position is also remote-friendly and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
