Are you a business student focused on project management and data visualization? AARP Foundation Business Operations is looking for you! As an intern, you will use your project management and data visualization skills to work with internal business units on process improvement. You would have the opportunity to be exposed to various data analysis and management systems, early-stage startups, and procurement and operational activities. AARP is committed to your growth and cultivating your continued learning and development. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of June 2022 and will go through the end of the year.
Responsibilities:
  • The intern will work directly and/or closely with the Director, Business Operations, and the Project Management Advisor to support projects
  • Apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to enhance the services of AARP Foundation Business Operations
  • Evaluate existing processes, reports, and systems to provide sustainable recommendations for process and design improvement
  • Research best practices and implement them where needed
  • Assist with planning and implementing special projects related to solving problems/solutions
  • Works with various stakeholders to collect and document information on updated governance policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • Pursuing a degree in a business-related discipline
  • Prior experience synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data into concise information and graphics
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills to clearly, succinctly, and effectively communicate to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent business judgment, organizational, and time-management abilities
  • Highly self-motivated and able to take the initiative in an ambiguous work environment
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
