osition Description:
Duties assigned include identifying and inventorying GIS services, assisting with data QA/QC and migration, and applying details to online services within our organization. Utilize ESRI software to update public-facing products and updating these products to newer versions. Inventory, digitize, and catalog assets and resources into electronic formats in support of the GIS team requests. This position will work under direction of the GFP GIS Coordinator and lead GFP GIS Program Specialist. This position may be a candidate for a remote work after successful completion of onboarding period, but will be required to reside near cities listed above for access to GFP offices.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should be enrolled in an accredited university with emphasis in wildlife, fisheries, GIS, IT, or a related field. They will have experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Teams. Experience with ESRI products such as ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap is preferred.

Applicant must be a enrolled as a part time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.

All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
