Marketing Operations Intern

IDC is looking for a high-energy, charismatic and driven Marketing Operations Intern for a comprehensive , 10 week paid REMOTE summer internship program. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in a marketing career to get valuable hands on experience with a global leader in technology market research.

In this hands on role, the intern will get valuable exposure to Marketo, an industry leading Marketing Automation Platform, and how it can be used to create, manage, and modernize business processes and marketing functions.

In addition the intern will learn about email marketing concepts/strategies, business to business marketing best practices and key metrics, as well as A/B testing concepts/strategies that help shape the direction of marketing messages.

Responsibilities:
Marketo Program Review:
  • Learn the components of a Marketo program, leveraging knowledge to test functionality and troubleshoot potential problems
  • Monitor Marketo reply inbox, triage any important questions/messages, farm for any hard bounce responses and update database as required
  • Execute Marketo instance email performance report benchmark, analyze Line of Business performance/success, and provide insights into areas of opportunity/improvement
  • Assist in audit and population of dictionary denoting all critical data points collected in Salesforce.com and Marketo
A/B Test Outcomes and Audience Alignment:
  • Analyze previous A/B tests and look for correlations between audiences and successes
  • Brainstorm new ideas for A/B tests using findings of what has and hasn’t worked in the past
  • Database Management: Record and chart monthly benchmarks of our core audiences to monitor overall growth/shrinkage over time
  • Deliverability Metric Monitoring: Monitor Internet Service Provider (ISP's) relationship over time and check the database for recurring problematic domains. In addition, monitor potential spam triggers and decipher what segmentations, roles, or accounts may be reporting messages as SPAM. This will allow the intern to learn about the importance of sender reputation on email deliverability and how to monitor the sender reputation of an ISP
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate student; preferably junior or senior, with a desire to launch a Marketing career
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative, strategic thinker; quick and eager learner
  • Ability to effectively work independently as well as within a team (willing to ask for help when needed)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Positive, can-do attitude -a positive and proactive attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
