Manufacturing Integration Engineering Intern

The Intern program at CooperSurgical provides university students with the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall business unit objectives. In addition to the assigned projects, Interns are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and employees.

Essential Functions

• Process mapping
• Building Gant charts and project management activities
• New Part Entry into business systems

• Coordinate with Facilities and Engineering to move production equipment

• Route and release protocols within the electronic documentation system

• Analise testing test results and generate protocol reports

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Scope

• Intern will be working directly with Engineering and Management team to complete an integration plan to transfer manufacturing from a target acquisition company into CooperSurgical manufacturing facilities. The goal is to prepare the receiving CooperSurgical site to take on manufacturing from its current remote location and prepare the sending site to divest manufacturing. This project will provide exposure to process mapping and assessing current states, performing gap assessments, performing New Part Entry, process validation and many manufacturing processes including plastic and silicone molding and assembly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced preferred

• Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently

• Excellent project management, organizational and follow-through skill set

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Professional demeanor

Experience

• Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus

Education

• Current university student, majoring in Engineering entering their Junior or Senior year

• Completed course work in Engineering
