Job Summary

Core & Main is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time paid summer intern to join the marketing and communications team at our St. Louis office, or remote.


Can you communicate effectively in 280 characters? Explain complex ideas through compelling videos? Present dense content through accessible and easy-to-understand infographics? Interns are an integral part of our team, giving participants real-life experience and skills that will help them succeed in their marketing and communications careers in the future.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Create engaging, shareable content under tight deadlines
  • Developing plans for community engagement
  • Monitoring and spotting trends and translating information into branded content
  • Conceiving, writing, shooting, editing and producing photo- or video-based content
  • Capitalizing on opportunities for new and innovative content creation
  • Delivering multiple assignments on deadline


Nature and Scope

  • Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data.
  • Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.


Work Environment

  • Position can be fully remote or hybrid.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable


Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
