As part of Anthem's Public Policy Institute (PPI) Team within Public Affairs, the PPI Intern will assist in conducting research and data analysis relevant to health policy topics. The position will be available in Washington, DC, for hybrid in-office/remote work, and intern candidates will need to demonstrate a blend of talents and skills including:
- Public policy and legislative issue tracking and research including current events related to healthcare policy
- Monitoring relevant new literature, studies, and data assets, keeping team apprised of new analyses, and summarizing key findings for internal use
- Conducting internet research and straightforward literature review on health policy topics, with oversight from other PPI staff
- Supporting work of PPI staff by creating charts, graphics, maps, and other visual data representations
- Monitoring and attending public meetings and other policy-relevant events, and circulating meeting notes within Public Affairs
- Ad hoc special projects as needed such as assisting with writing white papers/issues briefs, drafting social media posts and other communications (e.g., newsletters) to share PPI reports, and meeting agendas and project planning.

What we are looking for:
- Candidate who is able to work independently as well as on a team, skilled at developing creative solutions and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to read and summarize legislation, regulations, policy and healthcare research.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Rising Juniors and Seniors pursuing a bachelor's in political science, public policy, public health, healthcare administration, health informatics or a degree in the liberal arts.
- This internship is from late May/June to August, though exact start and end dates are flexible; intern is expected to work 40 hours per week.
- Must be enrolled fulltime at an accredited college or university during internship.
- Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements.
