Responsibilities
- Learn to predict and analyze aircraft acoustics using in-house and commercial tools using multi-fidelity methods
- Work closely with Flight Physics and Flight Test groups to coordinate experimental noise testing
- Use experimental noise test data to validate the prediction tools
- Suggest novel ways to mitigate noise
Requirements
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Pursuing B.S., M.S. or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics
- Experience with using CFD data to predict aircraft noise
- Experience with scripting languages (Python and MATLAB)
Eligibility Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required
Minimum age is 16
Must be live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins to meet eligibility requirements
Must be either a rising junior or Senior
Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
Transcripts are required. Unofficial transcripts are accepted
Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins to meet eligibility requirements
Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 8 weeks (Full-time 2 months)
Must be able to work pacific standard time (PST)
