Are you a digital marketing or communications student with an excellent eye for detail, strong writing, and communication skills? The Digital Customer Relationship Management team seeks an enthusiastic marketing student to assist our full-time staff with daily email and SMS marketing support. Though this role encompasses a diverse set of digital marketing tasks, it will primarily focus on the candidate's experience and skillsets. We're looking for candidates that are quick, eager learners and have a background in digital marketing and/or communication. This paid internship has an anticipated start of May/June 2022 and will have the option to continue for additional semesters.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with SMS and email communications and management
  • Collaborate with a variety of internal clients and external agencies to help meet their marketing objectives
  • Gain experience working with leading marketing software such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Target, Sharepoint, JIRA, Confluence, and Tableau
  • Prepare executive-level presentations while learning important management skills, including project management, meeting management, budgeting, and reporting
  • Improve the customer experience by mapping journeys, monitoring listening platforms, and sharing insights
  • Proof emails and SMS campaigns, create and manage content on internal sites, and help with tracking and analytics
Qualifications:
  • Pursing a degree in marketing or a related field, digital marketing preferred; must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • Experience creating marketing plans, relevant coursework, managing projects in a work or classroom setting
  • Ability to work with internal stakeholders, including business unit leads, digital channel leads, and members of the Product, Development, Membership, or Analytics teams
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving; leveraging technology to solve business problems in a production environment
  • Prior experience with email, social or mobile marketing preferred
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise
Must excel at the tedious:
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills - i.e., note-taking, QA/Testing documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication – i.e., status updates, ability to proof one’s work, attention to detail, succinctness - the ability to take complex ideas and express them in simple, easy to understand terms
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
