The Inside Cloud Sales Internship provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast paced, exciting environment with a vibrant team to support you.
As college student you will report into Sr. Inside Cloud Sales Manager for VMC on AWS and work closely with assigned Field Cloud Sales Specialists for both public and private sectors.
This exciting role combines on the job training with real life exposure to how the sales cycles is managed through its entirety.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over 3 months you will work towards completing?
- Meet the Field Cloud VMC on AWS Team and start to build relationships with them while understanding their business.
- Become familiar with the systems and processes used by the sales team to qualify opportunities and build out complex proposals.
- Learn sales support functions including forecast reporting, trend analysis and ROI models.
- Support running sales campaign with channel partners. This will provide valuable experience in building pipeline.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
The Inside Cloud Sales Intern is assigned to a specific geographic area and will work closely with a Field Cloud Sales Specialist in either Mexico or Canada. The Intern primary role is to maximize sales assigned by mentor and manager.
The primary focus is aimed at sales opportunities and accounts and is achieved by engaging customers directly while collaborating with partners to identify, develop, accelerate, up-sell and close transactions. It is expected that this role will increase deal win rates as well as accelerate time to close on key opportunities. The role will entail:
- Working with VMware marketing, channels team in driving activities that will lead to demand generation. Such as cold calling and also includes but not limited to workshops, campaigns, call blitzs, etc.
- Utilizing VMware applications eg. SalesForce, to manage, run the territory.
- May include helping with the development and roll-out of a new sales engagement platform i.e. Outreach.io
- Cooperates and collaborates with colleagues, cross-functionally, to support the sales process
- Articulates how the VMware business model relates to selling VMware products and services
- Learns the value proposition of VMware Cloud on AWS to demonstrate how the solution align to customer needs.
- Incumbent will work from their home office aligned to the work hours of their assigned geo.
Your day-to-day work and specific deliverables will vary depending on the specific sales cycle the team are in. You will be an essential contributor to a fast-paced team that requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
What is the Leadership like for this Role? What is the Structure and Culture of the Team Like?
Ann Damiano, Sr. Manager, Inside Cloud Sales for VMC on AWS will provide overall work direction. You will also work closely supporting Field Sales Specialists in Mexico or Canada. You may be given special projects from the Directors for East/LATAM or US Commercial/LATAM/Canada. Ann’s role is to ensure that you as the Intern are successful in the program and to offer continued support throughout the 3 months. All three of these managers within the team will provide coaching and guidance. The management team have a wealth of sales experience that they are willing to share. They are keen to make sure you gain the right exposure and experiences to help build a foundation for your future career choices.
Where is this Role Located?
This role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in the United States. You will be supporting teams in Eastern or Central time zones.
What are the minimum requirements?
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
- Currently in your Sophomore or Junior year of college
- Available to start and work throughout Summer 2022
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred
