Job Description:
We have an exciting Summer 2022 Internship opportunity for a remote IT Trainer intern to join the Technology Shared Services group within the Ferguson IT organization. The ideal intern candidate will be able to work full-time, with the option to go part-time come Fall 2022. This position is approved to sit 100% remote, however, candidates that are local to Newport News, VA, will have the option to work from our Headquarters office.
This role will educate associates on the technical aspects of applications and infrastructure. We teach business process and how technology drives it. Our training program provides instruction on Oracle, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Trilogie, High Jump, Security Infrastructure, and many other applications/platforms. With this role, Trainers will develop instructional material for learners and instructors to educate technical and non-technical personnel in the use of Oracle Cloud ERP.

OVERALLPURPOSE OF THE JOB
  • Work closely with trainers to manage Third Party training vendors. Trainer assistant for Technology training courses
  • Instructional Designer for Technical applications
  • Sign up associates for Technology training courses through Ferguson’s LMS.
  • Training Communications via SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and develop training for an Oracle Cloud implementation.
  • Conduct courses in an engaging manner and ensure that the course is designed to allow active participation in a virtual and/or in-person setting.
  • Train End Users on how to perform financial, budget, and accounting tasks in Oracle Cloud ERP/EPM system.
  • Manage the training material creation process, including mapping the business processes, benefits, and change impacts to course content, as well as uploading to the document library.
  • Work with the Training Coordinator(s) for training course administration/logistics.
  • Facilitate specialty training sessions, including UAT Training and Executive Training.
  • Deliver and participate in the Train-the-Trainer sessions by process area.
  • Set up data to facilitate training environments and sandboxes for financial systems training. Collaborate across the larger OCM team, as well as the System Integration and Technical Teams, to drive Oracle Cloud system adoption.
  • Area of training includes but is not limited to:
  • Trainer assistant for the New Hire Orientation Program and ServiceNow
  • Trainer assistant for Security fundamentals
  • Workday assignments in training
  • Business Applications training
  • Attend project meetings and team meetings to understand training needs.
  • Meet with key service owners to understand strategic direction.
  • Review post-training surveys to look for areas of improvement.
  • Provide line managers with specific feedback.
  • Look for alternate methods of delivering training where appropriate.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ideal candidate will be in their Junior or senior year. Open to considering Grad Student level
  • Demonstrates high levels of organization and professionalism with both Technology associates and business contacts
  • Good level of accuracy in reporting / documentation produced.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills
  • Excels in written and verbal communication, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Works effectively in independent and team environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
