OUR BANK - The Federal Reserve is the central bank of the United States. It consists of twelve Reserve Banks located around the country and the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta includes Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, and portions of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The Atlanta Bank has branch offices in Birmingham, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, and New Orleans. The Atlanta Fed and the other Reserve Banks play an important part in all three of the Fed's functions: monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and the operation of a nationwide payment system.

ABOUT YOUR TEAM - The Regional Economic Information Network (REIN) brings grassroots information into the Bank’s monetary policy-making process. Business and community contacts throughout the southeast play a key role in contributing to the data the bank uses to inform policy. The REIN team consists of staff in Atlanta, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Nashville, New Orleans, and Miami.
A requirement of this position is that the employee must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation from the Bank’s vaccination policy. To provide for the health and safety of its employees and support the Bank’s mission to the greatest extent possible, the Bank decided to adopt this requirement after careful review of public health information, workforce data, employee feedback, and the Federal Reserve System’s pandemic recovery plans. The Bank requires all employees to be vaccinated fully against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision, the select intern may assist with some or all of the following:
  • Research prospective business contacts/accounts
  • Develop content for external publications
  • Create and update charts for presentations
  • Monitor, research, and manage data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Assist with administrative processes and required documentation updates
  • Assemble introductory collateral for new contacts
  • Provide assistance with branch event coordination and support
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current college sophomores or juniors with an interest in economics, community development, policy, business, and/or management required.
  • Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor degree program through the duration of the internship.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA above 2.75 in academically rigorous curriculum.
  • Must be committed to working 40 hours per week during the summer. Opportunities for part-time work may exist during Fall and Spring semesters, depending on bank needs.
  • Preferred majors: Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Math, and other related programs are welcome to apply.
