Mayoral Internship Overview

The Mayoral Internship (formerly known as the Mayoral Fellowship) is a 10-week, paid, full-time summer internship that provides current students and recent graduates with an opportunity to work directly with city agencies on projects that are social-impact focused. With priority to college juniors and seniors, the primary goal of the internship is to offer young professionals interested in public service a chance to expand their networks and gain exposure to careers in local government. In addition to the role placement, interns participate in an in-person cohort experience with weekly programming, speaker series, community building experiences, and end of internship presentations. Interns are paid $5,500 stipends. Eligible candidates must be available to work for the full internship from Monday, June 13-Friday, August 19 . All positions will require at least some in-person activities.

BCRP Placement

Baltimore City Rec & Parks (BCRP) is committed to ensuring that the identified individual has a meaningful educational experience at BCRP. We will ensure this by having weekly checkin's with the candidate to gain their input and providing input to them.

Assist with research, planning, and implementation of strategic initiatives esp DEI by supporting the analysis of data, streamlining processes, and generating reports. Support document management, including updating resources, maintaining files and support tools Research and provide recommendations on resources for building and retaining diverse talent Conduct analysis of existing processes and help ensure that BCRP's workforce is well-supported Participate in all internship activities and events scheduled during normal business hours Support additional special projects on an Adhoc basis

BCRP Role Details

BCRP Placement

This is a hybrid position in which the work will be completed 50% in-person and 50% remotely. Interns will be in office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will be remote on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All interns will be required to attend in-person Mayoral Internship cohort programming on a weekly basis and/or as needed.
