Peraton is seeking Summer 2022 Nuclear Engineer Intern on-site in our Albuquerque, NM location performing unclassified work in support of a classified program. This is an on-site internship position with no remote/telework allowed.

We ask that each intern be available to work the duration of the ten weeks (June to August) and commit to working a minimum of 40 hours per week. This program is geared toward technical college students, actively enrolled at a four-year accredited university, who will be rising into their senior year. However, strong juniors and/or underclassmen may be considered if they have declared their major and have completed qualified coursework.

Peraton is looking for interns who are motivated with an interest in learning and understanding power and RF circuit designs in support of several exciting and innovative programs, ranging in a variety of Nuclear Hardened Systems.Internship will include ability to:
Understand Radiation principles, Nuclear Materials Engineering, Thermodynamics, etc.
Able to program efficiently in Python.
Understand electronics and nuclear systems
Use Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Voltmeters, etc.

Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
3.0 and above GPA.
Must be actively pursuing a 4-year degree at an accredited university.
Must be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related field.
Must be local to the Albuquerque, NM area able to commute on-site daily.
Basic understanding of nuclear systems, oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltmeters, etc.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience or knowledge working with RF systems.
Previous experience through coursework or internships.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency using Microsoft office.
An ideal candidate would be a rising junior or senior.
