Job Description:
The Aquatics Mission Specialist Intern will be responsible for the following projects:
Project 1: Create “library” of best practices among campaign participants, primary focused at continuing education for WSIs/BSIs and parent/caregiver education focusing on Centennial Campaign programs
o Identify and share best practices for greater effectiveness
o Create assets to share best practices, stewardship reporting
o Incentives for integrated online water safety courses into program
o Identify and share best practices for greater effectiveness
o Create assets to share best practices, stewardship reporting
o Incentives for integrated online water safety courses into program
Project 2: Support the project work of the Aquatics programs that will be underway, including Longfellow’s WHALE Tales and the Swimming and Water Safety program. Areas of focus/learning will be on project management and product development organization and processes.
Project 3:Develop tools, resources and processes in support of Centennial Campaign story telling at national, regional and local level
** THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE INTERNSHIP**
Shift: 8:30am EST to 5pm EST
Responsibilities:
This position would also:
- Provide content for maintenance of Centennial-specific RCO pages with current and fresh stats, stories and images
- Assist in activities related to needs analysis and curriculum mapping for dryland water safety at all grade levels
- Support research projects related to water safety/drowning prevention
- Support work related to content development for aquatics programs
- Administrative support as required

Education: Undergraduate, Junior Year, majoring in Public Health, Education, Marketing or Communications

Experience: Up to 1 year of related experience.
Skills & Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite, especially Word & PPT; experience in basic photo/video editing. Red Cross certification as a Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard preferred but not required

Travel: 10 to 20% travel is required
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
